Daily Homework Expectations
**Right now, this is tabled due to Covid. We will update when applicable.
In order to best utilize our resources in the new year, we are making a few changes in our homework procedures to go “greener”! First, you will receive one planner sheet for the entire month. This will remain the same as far as logging your child’s nightly reading for 20 minutes or more and signing the box. Should you misplace a log sheet over the course of the month, click on the PDF version provided below for you to print at home.
September Planner Sheet
October Planner Sheet
In lieu of a nightly homework paper, your son/daughter will have a list of IXL assignments from Language Arts and Math that will need to be completed by the end of the month. (Access via internet or via app on a device) Order is not important, but completion is. These will be a review of skills that have already been taught in class. If a child misses a question, remind him/her to read the tutorial that pops up on a missed question that teaches how to determine the correct answer. Completion is a SMARTscore of 100. If you notice that your child is struggling on a particular skill for multiple days, please send us an email. Please help your child learn how to manage their time. It will equal to 4 per week/1 each night Monday to Thursday, as always. Use a calendar to plan their IXL work on particular nights that they have fewer activities, rather than waiting until the last week of the month.
Students know their usernames and passwords for IXL. If they access it through the Maxwell website, they know what to do. If they access it from an IXL app, they need to remember to add @maxwelles after their username to make it complete. (Our website link already has that set up, so they only have to put their username into it.)
*If you do not have internet or phone service and no way to get onto IXL, either through a computer or an ipad/tablet/phone, etc., please let us know and we will make other arrangements.
