Reading Tips
We are always practicing how to:
- Make text-to-text and text-to-self connections to deepen our understanding of characters and plot
Practice the best ways to preview a text (Predicting while we look at the title, author, cover, and picture walk)
Generate questions to help us check ourselves: Using the 5 W’s (who, what, when, where, why) to generate questions.
Use “I Wonder” statements to guide thinking during the reading of a text.
